CriMNet/CJIS Space Review & Reconfiguration

Located in St. Paul, MN

2008 – The primary goal of this project was to create a report recommending space plan layouts that would accommodate future growth by utilize existing space more efficiently through application of the State’s guidelines for open office configuration.

As many stations were larger than the guidelines suggested, we understood from the outset that there might be negative reaction to our proposed changes.  To overcome this potential reaction, and, in fact create a positive reaction to our final recommendations, we needed to create a cooperative team atmosphere.  This was accomplished by initially including all employees in the questionnaire process, and subsequently incorporating their direct responses in to our proposed layouts.

Our final report presented three possible layouts for each work area, along with cost estimates.  The report was completed in July, 2008; work to implement our changes has not yet occurred.
